Fairfax
is considered “west” Marin and its history began with a land
grant to Domingo Sais in 1839. It became a city in 1931
and was named after Lord Charles Snowden Fairfax, tenth Baron
of Cameron Scotland. Only 16 miles north of San Francisco,
Fairfax offers a close community of outdoor enthusiasts who
often take advantage of the many trails for hiking and biking.
